        Tips before you start this exercise:

Present Simple – Do/Does Questions.

 

 To make questions:  Start with Do / Does

 

   → Subjects for Do ⇒ I / you / we / they / plural nouns (cats, dogs, students.

 

   → Subjects for Does ⇒ he / she / it / and one person / one thing (cat, dog, student)
 
• Question order:
   → Do / Does + subject + base verb (no s / es / ies) + other words?
 
Example:
She reads the newspaper every morning. Does she read the newspaper every morning?
They read the newspaper every morning. Do they read the newspaper every morning?
 
 

To make answers:

If the question starts with Do:
→ Yes Answer:

Yes, I / you / we / they + base verb + extra information.
Example:

Yes, they cook dinner.

 

→ No Answer:

No, I / you / we / they + do not + base verb + extra information.
Example: No, they do not cook dinner.

 

 

If the question starts with Does:

→ Yes Answer:

Yes, he / she / it / name + (base verb + s / ies/ es) + extra information.

Example: Yes, she cooks dinner.

 

→ No Answer:

No, he / she / it / name + does not + base verb + extra information.

Example: No, she does not cook dinner.
